The first thing we recorded for the track was it’s drums. Our drummer, Adam, was in the drum booth on the kit. We had 2 SN57 condenser microphones overhead to get the full sound of the kit, each mic panned hard left/right. We had an M201 on the toms for definition, plus it could handle the louder hits of the toms. For the snare we had 2 AKG 414 dynamic mics, 1 above and 1 beneath. Finally, on the kick drum there was an AKG D112, a common mic to use on bass drums. We also had 2 guide guitar tracks, 1 D/I’d into the desk, the other through a microphone in the dead room.
